SPUTNIK

Sputnik Internet started life as a web hosting company in 2001, running our own servers (and all that stuff). Clients immediately started asking us to do their websites, so we pulled in some arty types. Now in a position to offer graphic design services, we were quickly established as a (pretty much) full service design agency. What makes us stand out is our background in marketing, our seriously technical know-how, and our creative design team. Whatever we don't know, we find out.

One day, we might even change our domain name to reflect the wider range of work, which now includes web design, graphic design, illustration, intranets, cd's, presenations, promotion and marketing.

Andy Nicol - Sales & Marketing

Having spent 10 years in sales and marketing, Andy's first step into web development was as Marketing Director of a Manchester-based ISP. In 2001, Andy went on to set up Sputnik. His key roles within the company are Marketing Consultancy, Technical Advisor and Account Management.

Catherine Byrne - Design

Catherine has been immersed in art and design for as long as she can remember, but started applying her skills professionally in 1996 as a web designer. She operated Aurora Design, a design business in Santa Cruz, California until moving to Manchester in 2003 when she joined Sputnik as Creative Director. Her main responsibilities include corporate branding, web design, usability, graphic design and illustration.

Peter Kaniuk - Design & Production

Peter joined Sputnik in 2005, bringing his passion of all electronic arts and new technologies to our resources. An avid digital artist and accomplished musician, Peter's main responsibilities at Sputnik include web design, illustration, multimedia, coding and production.

Fiona Burrows - Technical

As the newest addition to the Sputnik team, Fiona has over ten years of programming experience. In her spare time she makes models out of paper and writes noisy industrial music. Her main roles are back-end programming and server administration.

If we had motivational posters on the walls, they would simply say what we tell ourselves every day - shoddy workmanship must never leave the studio. Our reputation is based on providing excellent service, and resolving spec changes and queries professionally, and with minimum distress to the client.
